We were waiting for an hour and people were still gathering… Suddenly the room turned dark, and in the darkness we saw few silhouettes, silently moving across the room. And then, we heard the drums. The spotlight fell on one drummer, then another, one more and – before we knew it – the room was filled with beautifully dressed drummers, wearing Nutcracker-like uniforms. They marched us into the spirit of the show… The drummers were not the only surprise that night. A live music box dancer opened the show and danced until the very end of it.
– whispered my journalist friend into my ear.
Well, you kind of do, don’t you?
The new collection featured Wolinski’s signature crinolines but also simpler designs, which are closer to my heart. The collection began with the quiet hues of black, brown and grey – lovely outfits! My favorite part of the show. Then short flirty dresses and skirts followed suit, accessorized with glittering pumps – for the little girl in you. The third part of the collection consisted mainly of silver and gold outfits – for the bolder clientele.
The golden dust sprinkled on the floor, the Nutcracker drummers, the music box dancer… – all of this put me in a very festive mood. What a nice way of celebrating the last week leading on to Christmas! Have yourself a very merry one!
